Day 1 – Welcome to Havana

Welcome to Havana!!! When we fly from Miami, we will arrive at Terminal Two where our premier concierge service will meet and transport us to the Melia Cohiba or similar hotel. We will check our bags until our 3:00pm room check-in.

At the hotel, we will have a brief orientation and then enjoy lunch in a local restaurant close to the Museum of Revolution Ivan Chef Justo. At 2:00pm, Jose will take us on a guided tour of Havana, including areas in downtown and in modern Havana with concentrations on History, Architecture and sociability. We will enjoy a panoramic visit to the Presidential Palace, Central Park, Capitol Building, and get the pulse of Cuba on El Malecon, see education at work at Havana University, learn history at  Revolution Square and much, much more.  This afternoon, you will see Colonial Havana, Cathedral Square, Plaza de Armas, Bodeguita Del Medio and Ernest Hemingway’s favorite watering hole, the Floridita, as well as other interesting sights and sounds.

We’ll complete our hotel check-in and freshen up before a fantastic dinner at La Moneda Cubana, a privately owned establishment next to impressive Cathedral Square.  Night entertainment is optional but we always have exciting suggestions, like the famous Tropicana Cabaret or The Parisien.

Day 2 – Art, Music and Religion

We will begin this exciting day with a discussion of Cuban Arts and Music led by one of several experienced art historians. Our guide will lead us through the Fine Art Museum. After a leisurely tour, we will move on to Callejon de Hammel in Centro Havana, where we will learn about Cuba’s heritage of Afro-Cuban religions before a delightful lunch at El Cocinero, another private restaurant.

After lunch, we will get a first-hand look at the work and community art of Cuba’s most celebrated ceramic artist, José Rodriguez Fuster, at his outdoor ceramic fantasyland “Fusterlandia.” After this dazzling viewing, we will stop by Muraleando, an ongoing, unique cultural and social community art project that keeps providing locals surprising opportunities.

We will rest, refresh and gather ourselves in our luxurious hotel accommodations before a fantastic dinner at Havana’s most highly rated restaurant, El Litoral, which is near the US Embassy. At night, we will take in historic Fabrica de Arte Cubano, the Ancient Oil Factory El Cocinero with its original, stunning interior. Here, we will have the opportunity to see and enjoy several local artists before heading to the hotel or optional entertainment.

Day 3 – History

Today’s tour begins in a classic convertible car that transports us to the emblematic Hotel National de Cuba and a tour of a renowned tobacco house before turning back to Old Havana where we will visit the famous Rum Museum.

For lunch, the staff at Café del Oriente in picturesque Plaza San Francisco de Asis will serve us well. Great hospitality and cuisine always works! Remember to save room for treats at the popular House of Chocolate and the equally delicious House of Beer. Souvenirs seekers will love time spent at the Craft Market San Jose where there is something for everyone.

Rest up because tonight has great promise! We will enjoy dinner and a show at the vibrant Buena Vista Social Club. Great music, great entertainers and fun, fun, fun!

Day 4 – Homeward bound

Enjoy some free time, shopping, swimming, sunning or strolling before our concierge service will with transport and luggage en route to our Havana-to-Miami  morning flight.
